DNF: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

fellowship-of-the-ringTitle: The Fellowship of the Ring

Author: J.R.R. Tolkien

Published: July 29th, 1954

Synopsis: Frodo Baggins knew the Ringwraiths were searching for him—and the Ring of Power he bore that would enable Sauron to destroy all that was good in Middle-earth. Now it was up to Frodo and his faithful servant Sam to carry the Ring to where it could be destroyed—in the very center of Sauron’s dark kingdom.

Why I DNF-ed this book: Sadly I stopped reading this book at about the halfway point because I just wasn’t interested in it anymore. At first I was intrigued by the whole concept of the “One Ring,” because it was so daunting and ominous. However, once Frodo started his adventure with Pippin and Sam I got really bored and could not continue. I’m really sad to have to DNF this book. I will probably want to come back to the story in the future and take my time to actually immerse myself into this wonderful world Tolkien has created, because Middle-Earth and The Shire are so impressive already!
